Artist Series Contest (September): Air Jordan XX Mock
Thanks to Sneakerhead NL, we have now seen the early sample version of the Air Jordan XX. The laser etched designs and straps at the ankle are bound to stir emotions among sneaker ethusiasts. Whether you like the new design or not, this is your chance to create YOUR version of the shoe. What would you have done if Nike handed you the pen to come up with the Air Jordan XX?

What's up everybody ?! Good shoe , Pietro , but I think your last work for the Olympics was much better and original . I still can't understand why you people did not vote for it ?! Anyway , good luck in this months theme . If somebody want to see my renderings about it , visit coroflot.com and search for me , Ha-HA ! I'll wait for some feedbacks . Ole !

Nice designs. But green and yellow? Ventsislav, everyone knows there will be many subsequent colorways to come along as player exclusives. But when you're presenting an Air Jordan design to us for the first time, you've got to connect it to MJ's persona. Two words... BLACK & RED

Thanks , Ryan ! I'm a big fan of Ray Allen , that's why made these colourways . I also think that it's a very good combination . So this was my reason

I believe Shaq left Reebok a long time ago. He's with Starter now--the "Dunkman" brand...I'm hoping we can make something other than that...

Hi everybody, Shaq has created his own brand, the dunkman brand, which was produced by Starter. But if I amnot mistaken, Starter has been recently acquired by Nike.

And I believe that Shaq's Dunkman shoes are part of the LA GEAR group. That would explain those shoes he wore at all-star last year with the flashing SHAQ logo... Shaq Attak month..the Heat is on...

Dunkman is part of Starter, which was bought, along with a couple lesser known brands, by Nike in early August. It seems that the brands will keep their names, at least for now. According to an AP article, they'll be managed by Exeter Brands Group LLC, an newly formed operating unit of Nike. // So, judging from that information, it appears that the Shaq renderings should remain "Dunkman" brand.

whuddup y'all... it's been a while since i got to post or anything. But it's good to be back. Arsen, nice stuff! I seen your stuff on Core77 before, it looks good. nice to see some new stuff from you. I guess the rendering i submit does not explain allot about the design. but that white part in the shoe is ... actually back ground. my shoe is i guess pretty minimal. I took the " independant" strap idea one step further, and just basically put in a heel counter and SOME ankle support through the straps... i dunno. i'll have more sketches soon, so hold on tight. Lookn' forward to the rest of the submissions.

Zenith, the way you render is simply beautiful. The shape is amazing, the concept is amazing and the photoshop (im guessing you used photoshop, it looks kinda hand made) is also amazing. Great job.

Eh, Am I the only one, who feels so far this is one of the weaker months? The only ones so far that I think are worthy are de casrto's and Zeniths, and then peterflights, assuming he makes it... Still good job, I just feel its not as storng as past months...

I have been watching this months enteries every day and to be honest im not very impressed with the standard of work this month, there have deffinatley been stronger months so far in the artist series. I dont feel that any body has captured the real heritage of the jordan line.....there are some nice renderings though. Zenith..Nice marker render and your shapes ar always nice too, im not sure about the construction of your shoe, ankle support is minnimal if any. Castro..very nice rendering skills!! its quite dark so difficult to pick out the detail, but again doesn't strike me as a jordan shoe.... Arsen..Rendering is good, do you work from photographs by any chance?? it looks very photo realistic! im feelin your design the most so far this month, it closer captures the tradition of the air jordan......ps. Look out for a guy named Richard (ricky) Barnes in next months shaq attaq competition the future of footwear design is arriving soon!!!!!!

As we close out the first year of the contest, Nike's Jordan Brand will be contacting several designers who has made the finalists in the Artist Series so far this year. Due to privacy reasons, if you do not wish to disclose your contact info, please contact us ASAP at admin@kicksguide.com. Otherwise, don't be so surprised if you get contacted - just want to get some of you guys prepared. Good luck.
