k1x Chiefgliders
  5.64 / 10
Mark kept the overall shape as the original Chiefglider but with a little update. He found the patterns to be simple, geometric and angular. He also wanted to mix in a little bit of tech and sport feel to the overall design. He feels like the shoe captures the street game and wanted the product to speak to the game and the the players who play it. What's more interesting is that Mark added the apparel line as well as multiple colorways. The urban style clothing line ties in with the look and attitude of the shoes.
  • Upper: Combination full-grain leather and patent leather upper takes subtle design cues from the fast pace game of the street basketball game.
  • Midsole: Phylon midsole for cushioning and give lightweight performance. Flex groove in the forefoot.
  • Outsole: Was inspired by fast cuts an movements in the action of playing the ball. The placement an use of the cuts creates high traction for use on the street courts.

    Flu Game

"If I knew then what I know now ... about what I would have to go through in Game 5 of the 1997 Finals at Utah, I don't know if I would play. If the outcome was guaranteed to be the same, then I'd probably go through it again. But if the outcome wasn't assured, there's no way I would do it again. I could have died for a basketball game. I played that game on heart and determination and nothing else. I didn't have any food, any energy, any sleep or anything else. I don't even remember a lot about that game. I have never felt as awful physically as I did in that game."

    2010

Tinker Hatfield and Mark Smith teams up to design the Air Jordan 2010 in this 25th anniversary edition. Jordan hands pick Wade as his signature shoe successor. This marks the first time in Air History that someone else other than MJ is endorsing the official Air Jordan shoe line.
