2007 Artist Series Contest (July): iPhone Inspired
Our previous iPod theme was such a hit that we've decided to bring back the Apple moniker with the new iPhone. The Apple iPhone is a revolutionary new mobile phone proclaimed by many to change the wireless world in the USA. Create a similiar breakthrough shoe that is inspired by the iPhone. Due Date: 07/21/07

KG admin : please, could you fix some things..? it's just details but i think it must me changed. Firstly, in the black area where my shoe is shown, under the pict, we read "June2007 AirJordanXXIII".
Secondly, on my "artist infos", we can not see that i am the winner of this contest. :)
thank you.

and THANK YOU ALL EVERYBODY so much for your congrats!!

i see what you are saying wayne, and I do not necessarily disagree; just that the reality is that retro/sport casual & color material applications are seemingly what has captured the attention of the buying public...there are always compromises to be made at every juncture of the process, so who knows what the original concepts were we just have to keep pushing the proverbial envelope...

congratulations aurelien!!!

Congratulations Aurelien!!!

The fact you won in just 6 finalists could be seen even in another way...maybe Iphone theme was more difficult than previous themes...and you have been able to solve it the best way! Cangrats again to you!!!

Hoang,Sarah,Stephen,Wayne,Tony,Nick,arnaud,Travi,Ryan,Luvell, Pepijn..

Thank you a lot, i'm very happy and proud for being the winner of this contest, and one of the 10 finalists of the year.

But this is true, we were not a lot of finalists this month, ...just 6. it should be more difficult if we were 10 or more. so, it does not matter, thank you a lot everybody again !

Felicitations Aurelien.
To me your shoe is the only entry that's truly inspired by the iPhone, and it's the best-looking too,..well done!
Please let me know about your current situation on pepijn.martens@decathlon.com

Ade: The consumer needs more time to get "on board"...but the way things are now if an idea doesn't work initially it disappears the following season (instead of being refined)...and with it goes all the credibility. I think the consumer is starting to realize that many of these "technologies" are bogus...

Looks like i'm BACK to being a "complainer"...whatever. lol. I'm retro niketalk son! I know for a fact that other designers agree with what i'm trying to say...i'm just the only dummie running my "mouth" online. lol. oh well. :/

See y'all on the umemployment line. I kid.

Thanks Wayne!

I got the Prismacolor Cool Grey marker set for my birthday so now I have to get down to business and learn to use them well.

I've decided I'm not going to fuel the fire on the discussion we've been having. Mostly I just don't want to get Tony started...

"They seem to "know" EXACTLY what will and won't sell...and then dictate those ideas to the shoe companies."

with all due respect, its their job. as i am learning it is fairly b&w for them, this is what sold last season (or at this point last year) and this did not sell. pretty simple. as designers, maybe we see in color/greys, we have to make that vision apparent, though i would still say it is harder for a retailers to get on board with that vision because consumers are not responding to it...

i definitely agree that the bigger fish in the pond can afford to risk more, i remember someone posing this question earlier; should they?

And on the "design ain't dead but it's barely breathing" discussion, no, you don't want to get Tony started. He can go on all day and all night...

hahaha...very clever, that adan shoe was probably a foreshadowing of what is happening now, result of the meeting between what the consumer was asking for and what performance companies have to offer:

consumer: i want a b-ball shoe that i can hoop in yet still looks good with jeans

company responds with a brown basketball shoe which, i think, was actually a decent hoops shoe. that was a risk, a brown basketball shoe? but at that time hoops shoes were still doing relatively well so it was probably less of a risk at that time...

i have already said more than i wanted to...i just think we just have to ride the current rerto wave, while still trying to make waves ourselves that provide an alternative...

Just downloaded it. Brilliant. Thanks, Jason. I had already downloaded the countdown pages and rebuilt that small section of the site on my computer. But I'm very happy to have the entire site now.

"...wish Kicksology was still around."

I imagine a lot of you have this already but I came across this a little while ago...

It pretty much gives you the whole of kicksology on your hard drive. Found it on Nike Talk.
