| Maurice Taylor (15) Reply | 12:43:00 PM Wednesday, May 18, 2005 Thnx for your comment Mr. Rock! ;) my shoe was really inspired by the jordan series (I love the jordan VI )your right but i`ve also mixed them up with some usefull parts of other shoe`s! Like the forefoot zoom of the lebron and parts of the sole seen at the 2k4`s. Maybee next time it works 2 get my stuff in the series (*winx* at the lazy admin`s ;) ) cause i`m already workin` on the design of the A.I. shoe for may-series and im really looking forward that it will be a pretty good one! Thnx |

| Rich Benares (0) Artist Info Reply | 7:51:00 PM Tuesday, May 17, 2005 JACKSON: You would use the pen tool to get straight lines done. It will take some time to master it, but it will be worth it. Cheers |
| jackson strom (21) Reply | 7:19:00 PM Tuesday, May 17, 2005 question about photoshop again... when you trace your sketch in photoshop, do you just use the pencil or what??? because i'm finding it hard to get straight lines doing this? Thanks... |
| ARSEN ROCK (196 Artist Info Reply | 1:36:00 PM Tuesday, May 17, 2005 mmmm..I really like your style Mr Taylor..It's between organic and mechanic (biomechanic?)..Also your rendering of the out sole, it seems like a spacecraft...Have u been inspired by an Air Jordan shoe??..Good work_______________ ARSROCK |
| Buzz 23 (13) Reply | 1:27:00 PM Tuesday, May 17, 2005 I 've been following the discussion about the photoshop and illustrator thing goin on and as somebody said already my point is those are good toolings that's it . The important thing is first the concept behind yr drawing and second how you communicate to your audience . If yr msg is not clear and is not spread using the right medium chances are you fail . Good thing is that design is pretty much as Golf, you never stop training , sometimes you fail and sometimes you succeed, no matter what the day after you always have to start again a new game ... never stop researching and develop yr own style . Alphaproject is the good example of how , without photoshop or illustrator , you can send out a msg simply using markers , and hit your target . |
| Buzz 23 (13) Reply | 1:10:00 PM Tuesday, May 17, 2005 FROG is a concept shoe directly inspired by tropical frogs . Their particular way of jumping ( cushioning ), stay attached to wet rocks ( traction ) and stay firm on every surface ( control ) using their natural sticky pod's made the inspiration for this running shoe . The transmision of the outsole pressure points up into the upper make the shoe an 'intelligent' receptor of the different ground surfaces to help the foot adapt right away .... |
| Pietro Pellicelli Moderator Artist Info Reply | 12:06:00 PM Tuesday, May 17, 2005 Buzz, your design is very well executed, but I think you should add some comment about the functionality and the purpouse of this shoe to make us understand your design; the shoe is very nice, though. Ciaooo |
| Buzz 23 (13) Reply | 12:02:00 PM Tuesday, May 17, 2005 Thanks again KG for posting my Frog concept, I'm a freshman of yr chat and so far it looks very interesting, it really gives people a chance to share ideas and comments in a free way . any comments on the drawing is welcome |

| Ryan Holler Moderator Artist Info Reply | 11:27:00 PM Monday, May 16, 2005 Jackson, look up tutorials on using your paint brush (or air-brush). You'll still want more detail control than the brush alone will offer. So next go through a tutorial on selecting. Experiment with different feather settings as you use your selection tools. Painting and filling carefully selected portions of an object is the key to really setting off a rendering. Lense flares, bevels, glows and shadow filters can add a nice touch, but many times those effects look a bit too manufactured. Photoshop has its own tutorials, but there are other sources out there. Anders Qvicker, a Swedish designer has some cool tutorials here... http://www.stab.se/aq/ny/pstips/fwf_all.htm -- Many of the tutorials on the right column of that page can apply easily to sneaker rendering. ///// Make sure you know how to draw first. |
