Anyone know what the red around the ankle is made of? I've read nothing about this shoe, but I've been looking at off on on for about a week or two.
I like the black stitching, but it looks kind of sloppy, even when you enlarge the pic to 100%. Might actually look better white — cleaner appearance.
I also like the toe area... don't know if that's laser or some other sort of tooled texture.
And just because I love symbolism, perhaps my favorite element is the 3-ring icon at the top eyelet. Hmmm... referring to titles? ...or the circus that has been Kobe's life for the last couple years? Both work.
To me there's nothing to not like about this shoe. It's pretty, but it's a very safe design. Overall, I guess I expected something a little more jaw-dropping in appearance for KBs first swoosh sig.

now that kobe got off the trial...and hes a free man,Will nike be releasing the 2K4's in the the LA Edition colors ? like the colors he wore throughout the nba finals ? cause i have the slam kicks magazine and it shows like 4 different colors and says keep your eyes open in stores in october...does anyone know anything ? cause ive been wanting that shoe for Along time i just dont wanna do the whole NIKEID thing and wait for em, and what is this whole AIR KOBE thing about ? please update me somebody

congrats to pietro..his design was hands down the best. good job..a lot of the shoes on here look like running shoes...like zeniths and warrens. they look nice, but they just don't look like basketball shoes.
