Light Weight - Modern players need to be faster at every position and the Air Jordan 2010 is built for speed with its lightweight performance design.
Independent Forefoot Cover - Basketball's first ever independent forefoot cover increases strength and support but yet at the same time, flexes easily for a smooth and natural transition movement.
Low Profile - The Air Jordan 2010 was designed to be lower to the ground with less layers and thinner cushioning for a more responsive shoe in tune with today's athletes. Lower you are to the ground, more you feel the floor in your cuts and movements. This is no different than sports lowering the center of gravity in order to handle better on the track.
TPU Window - The Air Jordan 2010 has a transparent window that provides a sculpted fit and represents Jordan's ability to see through his opponents while selectively revealing portions of his own game. On the street, sneaker heads are calling it the "peep hole". While this is a first of the Air Jordan line, this is not too radical. Previously, Nike has used Huarache cut outs that let you see through various areas of the shoe (ankle was the most often area used). Also, the mesh on the Air Jordan XV was in a similar area of the Air Jordan XXV 20 years later (although it did have another layer between the foot and the mesh).
Outsole - The Air Jordan 2010 thinner outsole results in an incredible responsive ride and is clear on certain colorways to reveal the Zoom Air cushioning right beneath the heart of the sole. Traction is unparallel - think of this as the best high performance tires you can buy for your car.
Bottom Loaded Zoom Air - The Air Jordan 2010 bottom loaded Zoom Air borrows from low profile running shoe cushioning for better court feel and superior agility. Never before has an Air Jordan place the air bags so close to the ground. This allows the shoe to be extra low profile for maximum performance. The Zoom Air absorption is designed so that the impact is immediately disbursed through out the shoe. This innovation has been done previously in running shoes but this is a first for basketball shoes.
Stacked Heel Zoom Air - Zoom Air units stacked in the heel add an extra layer of impact protection. This has been done previously in several Air Jordan signature as well as Jumpman models. Athletes will welcome back this feature for both comfort and performance.
Mesh Forefoot Underlay - The mesh underlay beneath the Air Jordan 2010's independent forefoot cover lets toes move freely and breath like never before. This is a thoughtful design to address some of the previous models that became overheated in competition which caused discomfort in the long haul.
Sock Liner - The cushioned performance sock liner not only feels great both on and off the court but it also reveals a hint of Jordan's UNC Blue through the Air Jordan 2010 window. It is subtle design elements like this that adds a finishing touch to an already great product.
Midsole - The Air Jordan 2010 midsole has been carved and shaped in a way to reduce some of the bulkiness. At the same time, it also features a graphic that contains a special hidden message from Michael Jordan to those fans that are true to the game.
Green - The Air Jordan 2010 continues Jordan's breakthrough sustainability efforts by being efficiently designed and avoiding harmful toxins. The Jordan Brand teams used environmentally friendly materials. Perhaps we can expecting an Air Jordan Hybrid model in the future?
Protection - The asymmetrical collar on the AJ 2010 revives a radical Jordan innovation. It sits higher on the outside and lower on the inside for better ankle support while also allowing the athlete to have a more natural fit for comfort. Meanwhile, the outriggers at the forefoot are strategically placed to provide extra support in areas of lateral instability in order to reduce the risk of ankle injury.
Upper - The perforated upper on the Air Jordan 25th anniversary model is performance engineered to be both breathable and responsive while representing the iconic style on an Air Jordan.
Toe - Michael has always wanted to have a clean toe so that his shoes look good casually with jeans. THe Air Jordan 2010 takes it a step further with its unobstructed independent forefoot cover. It also offers a more anatomical fit so that players can sprint faster and be more flexible on their toes.
Collar lining - The Jordan 2010 has a special collar containing a separately molded stitched-in unit that wraps around the ankles for a better overall fit.
