January 2005 - Ferrari 430
Ferrari F430
  6.78 / 10
Newcomer Luvell steps up and delivers one of the few yellow Ferrari's of the month. The simple and clean design bears resemblance to the Nike Flightposite/Ultraposite lineage. Fore foot air pocket system allows air to flow through shoe and escape through the mid ankle plexi vents. Carbon fiber arch support system gives stability for stops and turns with minimal added weight. The flexi glove upper material is a breathable light weight leather grunch rubber sole Nasa material gives ultimate control. Overall, light, fast, sleek and shiny - just what a Ferrari is suppose to be.

January 2005 - Ferrari 430
Puma F305
  6.74 / 10
Peterflight's latest creation is a Puma shoe, the Ferrari F1 partner for 2005 season. The name F305 is because 305 is the height of the basketball rim in centimeters - Ferrari is very precise in naming their car (every number has its own meaning). The main structure is composed by the heel portion and mesh upside part, a Puma Disc rotor secures forefoot fit while the ankle is locked down perfectly from the all around strap which works over the "wing" and is adjustable using a slider. Cushioning is provided using Puma cell technology at the heel and forefoot.

JOE IM

January 2005 - Ferrari 430
F430
  7.08 / 10
Joe Im's sudden return was certainly surprising. Yet his submission showed us that his BioGlide Freestyle last summer was no fluke. Joe uses much of the same simple yet elegant style that made him successful last year. This concept incorporates a lot of little details from the F430 - most notably the fire red Ferrari engine show as the arch support at the sole. The main focus in the construction of the shoe was stability, as is evident in the ankle support design. Finally, his attention to detail goes as far as finding the right stitching design from the dashboard.

VENTSISLAV NIKOLOV

January 2005 - Ferrari 430
Nike Saturn
  7.13 / 10
We especially enjoyed Ventsislav's first entry in 2005. Mostly because we see the drastic improvement in combining his creative ideas with a design that can finally win the hearts and minds of a fan. He stayed away from the exact shape of a car and instead used the Ferrari's speed, beauty and heat to create a mind blowing design "from the beach to the courts". It is called Saturn because of the 3 ball shaped "planets" and their "rings". The upper side is supposed to be made of light and plastic materials that can allow for easy movements of the foot. What really keeps the entire shoe together is a silicon like material that is strong and yet resilient.

YUBO GONG

January 2005 - Ferrari 430
Ferrari X Flight
  6.62 / 10
Yubo's back this year with his strongest performance yet. The automotive cues are obvious enough. This dreamy sketch remind us of a Cinderella glass slipper, just waiting to be tried on in your on-court fairy tale scenario. Before you complain about ankle support and all that other practicality non-sense, we got to give Yubo props for coming up with this creative design. Let us remind you that Ferrari's are not meant to be practical and this shoe epitomizes what dreams are made of.

January 2005 - Ferrari 430
Puma Ferrari F430 Basketball
  6.67 / 10
Lei's first entry is a solid representation of the Ferrari 430 Theme. Rims, tires, carbon-fiber and exhaust elements are apparent to go along with the smooth flowing lines you've come to expect from a Ferrari. A secret weapon for guards who puruse fast movement
  • Full-grain leather and nubuck upper offer durability and comfort.
  • A small portion of mesh increases breathability.

    January 2005 - Ferrari 430
    Puma F430 Modena
      4.52 / 10
First time submission shows a lighter side of shoe design - almost cartoonish. Following the sleek, modern exterior of the f-430, the shoe carries a very smooth aesthetic appeal through its plastic reflective casing and futuristic shaping. On both sides, the shoe mimicks the Ferrari's rear window with a transparent plastic covering. With an inventive substitution to airholes, the shoe has molded case vents to allow air to flow into the shoe, similar to hood scoops and side panels on the Ferrari model. Drawing further inspiration from past shoe designs, the F-430 Modena shoe concept possesses a crash-heel support, similiar in appearance to the original Nike VC Shox. Laces are hidden in an intricate lace-loop system. To allow more freedom and heel support, the backing has an added leather support handle. To mimick the tires and traction of the car, the shoe has a tire like tread-pattern on the sole, along with one of the two logos present on the shoe, retaining a clean, simplistic look.
